I have always worked in the independent space and gained crucial experience as a paraplanner and junior advisor in the first few years of my career before moving into a senior advisory role. Combined with my studies and working my way up the ranks in the industry, has allowed for firm theoretical and practical knowledge to best serve clients.

I enjoy working as an independent financial advisor immensely, approaching client portfolios in a holistic manner and including general financial planning aspects such as budgeting effectively. 

When I don't have my financial adviser hat on, I am a passionate equestrienne, and enjoy exercising, reading and caring for my dogs and house plants. I believe in having a work-life balance, as one cannot pour from an empty cup.

Bonds seem to have turned into a growth asset! While bonds are generally a more defensive asset, with the focus on capital preservation, the record highs of South African Government bonds has now turned this asset class into a growth asset, with returns equaling or exceeding equity returns. We don't know how long this will last, but it is worthwhile adding some bond exposure into your portfolios and locking in these higher rates, in a sensible manner and where it makes sense in your financial strategy.
